Because it keeps the conversation serious on both sides — and because the $125 is credited toward any engagement. If we work together, the consultation effectively costs you nothing. If we do not, you still leave with a clear picture of your options for less than dinner.

What do I get for the $125?

Thirty minutes, one-on-one. You explain your situation, I ask questions, and you leave knowing what your options are and what they cost. A consultation is not legal advice — it is the map, not the journey. The actual legal work is quoted in writing at the consultation before any work begins.

Is the consultation legal advice for my situation?

No — and that is by design. The consultation gives you general legal information and a clear picture of your options, so you can make an informed decision about what to do next. Legal opinions and advice on your specific matter come with an engagement: a signed engagement letter, a defined scope, and a fee quoted in writing. No attorney-client relationship is formed by booking or attending a consultation.

What should I have ready before the call?

Just know what you want to talk about. If you have relevant documents (contracts, correspondence, filings), have them accessible. But do not stress about being perfectly organized. That is literally my job.

What types of matters do you handle?

Business law, technology contracts, corporate transactions, SaaS agreements, entity formation, IP licensing, data privacy, civil litigation, and outside general counsel arrangements. If your issue is outside my wheelhouse, I will tell you on the call and point you to someone who can help.

Do you work with clients outside Connecticut?

For transactional work — contracts, corporate, IP, privacy — absolutely. Many clients operate nationally. For litigation, I cover state and federal courts in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts.

How quickly can I get on the calendar?

Usually within a few business days. If something is genuinely urgent (deadline, active dispute, deal closing), mention that when you book and I will do my best to accommodate.

What if I need ongoing legal support, not just a one-time call?
